The concert begins with the tympani thunderclap of Antropolis by Gabriela Ortiz. Her driving rhythms evoke the seduction of a smokey Mexico City café. And the Richmond Symphony Chorus is featured in Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances” (the tune for “Stranger in Paradise”.)
